David de Lara is an Austin, Texas based artist whose brash approach and unmistakable style have continued to make people take notice. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in the rural countryside of South Texas. He attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he received his BFA in Fine Arts in May 2003. He soon relocated to Austin, which quickly became a more conducive environment for his lifestyle and creativity. He currently works for La Peņa, a non-profit Latino arts organization. By day he is an arts administrator who helps organize and promote art exhibitions. At night he pursues his own artistic endeavors. On the weekends he has a thing for world domination, but sleeping late usually gets in the way of that.
