Bocastria, exploded onto the music scene in 2006, redefining Latin Rock by fusing Tejano and Latin music with other musical styles such as Rock, Reggaeton, Gypsy, Jazz, and Pop. Its debut release, “Enter the groove,” was recorded by Grammy Award Nominee, Jonny Martinez, (son of Tejano Music Hall of Famer, Anselmo Martinez) and proves it is the band to watch in 2007. Bocastria’s electic sound and bilingual poetry has allowed them to crossover into different musical genres. In 2007, Bocastria performed at SX-Tex-Mex Awards and Showcase, featuring several Grammy Award Nominees and Tejano Music Award Winners. They performed at the Tejas Records VIP Party with Tejano stars Ram Herrera, Sherry Lares, Sunny Sauceda, Jonny Martinez, and Los Desperadoz. Bocastria also performed at three showcases during SXSW in Austin, including ATXtreme with Uncle Monk’s Tommy Ramone, formerly of The Ramones. You can catch Bocastria live at the Troubadour Saloon on 6th Street in Austin, where they host a Latin Showcase every month. Bocastria’s debut release, “Enter the groove,” is available at Waterloo Records, WaterlooRecords.com, CdFuse.com, and Cheapo Discs.
