Experience Austin country music— either live or streaming out of a loaded old-school jukebox— at one of these authentic country bars in town. As much as Austin is known for its rock music scene, we can’t forget the fact that this is, after all, still Texas. The Austin country music scene will forever be associated with the rise of legend Willie Nelson. Enjoy a night of country dancing at an Austin honky tonk.

If you’re looking for country line dancing, there’s no better place to go in town than South Austin’s famous Broken Spoke. With a featured honky-tonk band playing every night and regular special guests, you’ll always have a reason to get your boots tapping and your Wranglers wagging on the wide wooden dance floor.

A south Austin icon for cash-only beer, neon signs and pool, The HSL is pure song-writer material. Just ask Slaid Cleaves, or listen to his song about a night down at the lounge. Beer is cheap, music is solid and a tightknit group of regulars abound.
