3 months agoBack in November of 2011, the Driscoll siblings, Bruce and Erica — doing business as Blondfire — unveiled a candy-coated video for what was then their seemingly surefire hit-in-waiting "Where the Kids Are." Since then, the band signed with Warner, tightened the song a little bit, landed it in a TV commercial for Honda and made it the centerpiece of the four-song EP released in November , which includes the equally bouncy hit-in-waiting "Walking With Giants." So think of this new video for "Where the Kids Are" as a do-over — a slicker but rather painfully more here

7 months agoBlondfire , the brother-sister electro-pop duo who have just signed to Warner Bros. Records, heads up the lineup for the September edition of the KCSN / Buzz Bands LA local music series at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood. The band, anchored by Bruce and Eric Driscoll, will be joined by newcomers Western Scene and Go West Young Man . 7 months agoThe 10th annual Tarfest — the music and arts festival on the Miracle Mile — officially kicks off tonight with an exhibition curated by Holly Harrison of LACMA , but for music fans the treats come Saturday when a free, all-ages outdoor festival goes off in the park adjacent to the La Brea Tar Pits. 7 months agoThe brother-sister pop confections of Blondfire made for a tasty Tuesday night at the latest edition of the KCSN/Buzz Bands LA local music series at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood. The L.A. based band anchored by Brazilian-American siblings Bruce and Erica Driscoll included their first single "Where the Kids Are," as well as the title track off their forthcoming album for Warner (due in 2013), "Young Heart," in an exuberant, crisp set. Western Scene , the new band from Tom Pritchard and Jason Burkhart , delivered some big hooks too, playing songs more here
