Like the Grateful Dead and Phish before them, Galactic carry on the tradition of traversing the U.S.A. in what hat seems like a never-ending jam session. The New Orleans bred, jazzy, funked-up ensemble has released half a dozen records in their little more than a decade together. Their last effort, however -- 2003's Ruckus -- found the jam band taking a break from road life to visit a proper studio with Dan The Automator Nakamura. The lack of pressure to get back on the road led the outfit to craft one of the most lauded albums of their career, which has only helped their enormous fan base swell even larger.
