Forming from the ashes of <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Winter+in+June" class="bbcode_artist">Winter in June</a>, Forthesinners and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/My+Dad+Joe" class="bbcode_artist">My Dad Joe</a> in early 2005 (and originally going by the handle of Last Fight For The Living Dead), they straight away went about their intention to write infectious, original and exciting hardcore punk music by mixing it with and "the riffery of <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Mastodon" class="bbcode_artist">Mastodon</a>, the off-kilter tempo changes of <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/JR+Ewing" class="bbcode_artist">JR Ewing</a>, the rock n roll swagger of <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/The+Bronx" class="bbcode_artist">The Bronx</a> and the dischordant noise of <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Swing+Kids" class="bbcode_artist">Swing Kids</a> then wrap it up, sealed in a sweat and alcohol soaked Union Jack." They self-released their self titled EP in mid-2005 and instantly turned heads in the punk community, along with their fascinating and incredibly energetic live shows; vocalist Frank Carter in particular is known to just throw himself at the crowd and see what happens, turning into an emotional ball of fury on stage. The band's hard work and constant touring soon paid off as they were signed to Indie UK label In at the Deep End Records. This set the stage for them to write and record debut album 'Orchestra Of Wolves' which was released June 2006. Although many of the tracks here were old material, with a much bigger production and experience, Gallows were able to record and build on their earlier work; which has become a critical success in the UK punk rock community. Live, Gallows must be seen to be believed, with the policy that 'if the crowd don't fear for their own safety, we are doing something wrong'. An amazing experience involving mental mosh pits as well as members of the band bowling through/into/spitting at/insulting/fighting the crowd. The 2005 demos have been released on limited edition white vinyl by <a href="http://www.last.fm/label/Holy+Roar/" class="bbcode_label">Holy Roar</a> and a split 7" with <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/November+Coming+Fire" class="bbcode_artist">November Coming Fire</a> was put out by <a href="http://www.last.fm/label/Thirty+Days+of+Night/" class="bbcode_label">Thirty Days of Night</a> . Gallows have recently signed to Warner Records and will be released on <a href="http://www.last.fm/label/Epitaph/" class="bbcode_label">Epitaph</a> alongside other label mates such as <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/I+Am+Ghost" class="bbcode_artist">I Am Ghost</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Escape+The+Fate" class="bbcode_artist">Escape The Fate</a>. At the Reading Festival 2007, Frank Carter(Vocalist)was tattoed on stage during their live set, The Tattoo artist was Chad Gilbert of <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/New+Found+Glory" class="bbcode_artist">New Found Glory</a>.
