growing up in san antonio you may have had a favorite band as a youngster (for instance, the beatles) but you start playing guitar by learning a lot of judas priest songs. pretty much all of them. then you hear mike stern and go, "hmm, that's pretty cool". but you're not a jazz player so you end up playing in a band that sound like bad brains. then you discover flamenco guitar and chase after gypsy guitarists for a while. you soon realize the race is over and you have lost. but you earned a good living doing it, all the while writing and recording pop songs in your spare time. and now you feel it's time everyone heard what the hell you were doing in your tiny apartment for all those years. you are here now.
