Hometown: THE DIRTY SOUTH, Texas
Roots Music / Rock / Acoustic
The John Evans Band has been a mainstay in the Texas music scene for years with a list of influences that span the genre map. Anyone who follows Texas music has most likely been exposed to Evans' unique sound, often referred to as "Buddy Holly fronting AC/DC."
John Evans has been one of the top musicians at the Houston Press Awards for the past six consecutive years bringing home awards for Best Musician, Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist and Musician of the Year. The music video for "Quicksand", from the last album "Circling The Drain," won a Platinum Remi award at the 2005 WorldFest International Film Festival and another album track, "Slither," appears on the soundtrack for popular indie film "Drop Dead Sexy," starring Jason Lee and Crispin Glover, which debuted at SxSW Film Festival and is slated for international release in 2007.
The John Evans Band is currently touring the U.S. in support of recently released album "Ramblin' Boy." Look for them in a market near you!
