These rowdy 'n' rockin' Southern boys made a splash when they played the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2002, following their bracing debut album, Youth and Young Manhood. Brothers Nate (drums), Jared (guitar and lead vocals) and Caleb (bass) Followwill grew up on the itinerant revival circuit playing behind their preacher dad, and when finally exposed to the secular world of rock 'n' roll in their late teens took to it like naturals. Kings of Leon won a publishing deal and major label contract by singing their songs in offices in Nashville and New York, and then added cousin Matthew on lead guitar and quickly became superstars in the UK. Album two, Aha Shake Heartbreak, invited favorable comparisons to everyone fro the Stones to the Velvets, marking them as an act likely to become one of those timeless rock 'n' roll bands that truly matters.
