Buzz Bands LA on Lavender Diamond
6 months agoTucked away about halfway through Lavender Diamond's "Incorruptible Heart" is probably the most surprising song on the L.A. quartet's sophomore album. "Light My Way" is a hopeful synth-pop number that's a couple shades brighter than the gorgeous but lovelorn chamber-folk on the album. Of course, Becky Stark has a way of making sad sound like it's full of possibilities. Makes you want to dance in the shadow of a Long Beach oil refinery, right? more here

7 months ago"A lot of these songs came out of the raw need to transform something so painful," Lavender Diamond's Becky Stark tells the L.A. Times in an interview published today . "Writing and singing, it's a way to do that. That's why music can be such an amazing healing force." Stark's aspirations are fulfilled on "Incorruptible Heart," the second Lavender Diamond album and the L.A. quartet's first since 20072s "Imagine Our Heart." Whether Stark's serene voice is framed by chamber-pop, folk or dancey electro, "Incorruptible Heart" (out today) is honey to the ears, and only the more here
