The carnivalesque brainfreeze that is Mr. Free and the Satellite Freakout can rarely be contained to the restraints of a traditional stage. Often, Mr. Free’s safest performance space is inside the confines of a modified school bus reconfigured as a traveling venue. It comes equipped with a generator, sound system, comfy seating and plenty of room for kegs and a packed dance floor. So if you’re walking down S. Congress or 6th and Red River, keep your eyes and ears peeled for the ominous black school bus and the experimental prog-rock of Satellite Freakout, who may or may not draw inspiration from early Oingo Boingo, Yes, Rush, G.G. Allin, Frank Zappa and the trashiest lingerie your Goodwill has to offer. If Mr. Free is in your neighborhood or at your favorite bar, be sure to have your batteries charged, memory cards clear and wear something machine-washable.
