Formed in 2005, Canadian electronica export MSTRKRFT (that’s “Masterkraft,” if you’re one of those “I’d like to buy a vowel” types) is the duo of Jesse F. Keeler and Alex Puodziukas (aka Al-P). Prior to forming MSTRKRFT, they worked together when Al-P produced albums for Keeler’s previous bands Death from Above 1979 and Black Cat#13. The duo’s 2006 debut, The Looks, was praised by critics, with Alternative Press dubbing it “sweaty and thick, convincingly urgent and highly sexual.” MSTRKRFT released its second full-length, the hard-hitting Fist of God, this year.
