Opposite Day was formed in 2001 in Austin, TX. Our plan is to create music that makes you happy, frightened, enlightened, and confused at the same time. We don't play comfort-food music. Its' high in fiber and essential vitamins, minerals, and caffeine. We think good music should be like a good book, with conflict, characters, unexpected events, and a theme. The tools we use are odd time signatures, pop hooks, flashy musicianship, jazz harmonies, challenging arrangements, bizarre riffs, and lyrics that are either silly, academic, or impressionistic. We have 2 albums out and are working on a 3rd. Drummer Pat Kennedy replaced Ethan Herr in 2005. Greg Yancey and Sam Arnold have stayed the same. Animals rock!
