7 months agoPerfume Genius's beautiful debut album Learning was an unfortunately overlooked collection of songs seeming so delicate that any sudden movements may just break them to pieces. There was a sadness, or maybe a bit of fear, that seemed to permeate throughout the record putting the songs on so personal a level that they often became overwhelming. On his recent release Put Your Back N 2 It, Mike Hadreas (the man behind Perfume Genius) seems to find a balance between fragility and comfort, maintaing the unique human quality to all of his work while demonstrating both personal and artistic growth. more here
