Ratatat
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
Listening to their albums, mixtapes and remixes of acts like The Knife, Television Personalities and Biz Markie, you’ll understand why Ratatat has been called the USA’s answer to Daft Punk. However, from their 2004 eponymous debut through 2010’s LP4, Brooklynites Evan Mast and Mike Stroud have engaged audiences with their own voice (despite the dearth of actual vocals), and mounted supersonic live spectacles jammed with psychedelic lights, original films and flickers of familiar pop culture.

over 2 years agoThe dudes from Ratatat just put out a couple of 12'' singles with a new b-side, a couple of remixes, and "outtakes" from one of my favorite tracks off of their Classics LP, "Loud Pipes." If you've got just a couple of dollars to spend and you head over to Turntable Lab, here's what you'll get: Ratatat - Loud Pipes 12'' Loud Pipes (Main version) Loud Pipes (Outtakes) Kennedy (E*Rock remix) Goose (B-side) Ratatat - Wildcat 12'' Wildcat (Main version) Wildcat (E*vax remix) Swisha (Main Version) Swisha (Guitar Instrumental) Swisha (Drum Instrumental) There's also a "Lex" 12'' out there Ratatat - Lex 12'' Lex (Main Version) Lex (Mouse On Mars Remix) Truman (Main Version) The "Kennedy" remix is semi-epic, very few people have ever heard "Goose" before, few also have an album version of the "Truman" b-side, and the "Loud Pipes" outtake is pretty much a whole new song. more at blogspot.com
