I once heard the legendary Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols describe today’s punk as disgusting due to being predictable. I am happy to say that he perfectly described this band. The songs are too punk, too fast, with too many power chords and too many anthem cliches. These guys sound like a bunch of cubicle crusties that met at the corporate Christmas party and decided to do something “edgy” and start a band. The mistake resulting from such a folly only spells disaster for punk. I can only describe this band as a flaccid blimp with an over-inflated sense of marketing. Coincidentally, these guys are repped by Volcom Entertainment, apparently some “musical” arm of the surf brand stamped on every blond with blue eyes residing within a one-mile proximity of sand, regardless of whether they have set foot in the ocean. Suspiciously, before I even put two and two together, I would have recommended this music for any midlife crisis beach bum still working in marine retail. I now am faithful that this in fact is the marketing team behind the creation of this monster.
