Rock / Blues / FolkTwo of the members of The Best Love In Town found themselves in Austin after leaving New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. It took a while to get situated, but they soon found themselves playing regularly on the Austin scene. Clubs in the Red River district like Headhunters and Plush quickly made them feel at home by booking them regularly. Soon after this happened, Italian harmonica virtuoso Banzai saw The Best Love In Town playing and asked them if they would join him at his weekly happy hour slot at the Red Eyed Fly. They agreed and they all hit it off instantly. The Best Love In Town were honored that someone who has recorded with music legends such as guitarist Eric Johnson, and Stevie Ray Vaughn's band, Double trouble, was so keen on playing with them. Banzai's harmonica work adds an entirely new dimension to the delta blues style that The Best Love In Town thrives on. Since then, The Best Love In Town have taken their act to many clubs in the Austin area such as Plush, Headhunters, Room 710, The Blind Pig, The Lair at the Ivory Cat, The Red Eyed Fly, Latitude 30, The Carousel Bar and other venues. After recording demos for the past year or so, The Best Love In Town is finally ready to release their debut record. This record that was recorded independently and will be released independently in the coming weeks. The record features original songs with a couple of their favorite covers thrown in. The Austin blues scene is still present, although it's tough to find bands that really do play traditional blues. The Best Love In Town sticks to the basics, while throwing in a little flair as well.
