The Watson Twins are Chandra and Leigh Watson. Growing up between the beauty of the farmlands and the muddy waters of the Ohio River, the Girls found their solace in the diverse music scene of their hometown Louisville, KY. The smell of honeysuckle and the sound of that rambling city can be heard in their music. A unique and lush fusion of vocal harmonies, intimate songwriting and beautifully arranged melodies. The twins moved to Los Angeles in the late 1990's and formed Slydell, favorites of the Silverlake music scene. While acting as the soulful backup singers of the band, the Watsons were also persuing their own songwriting. Chandra and Leigh's debut release is the CD-EP "Southern Manners", recorded at Everest Analog Recorders in Eagle Rock, CA. Co-porducing and playing on the EP are Russ Pollard (Sebadoh, Folk Implosion) and J. Soda (Slydell). Also featured on "Southern Manners" is Brian Lebarton (Beck), Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley) and Aram Arslanian (Orphan Train). These songs are an intricate patchwork quilt of their history, loves both lost and found, worn edges of heavily turned pages, musty boxes filled with faded photos and highway diamonds that lead to empty skies.
