It Takes A Nation of A**holes To Hold Us Back was recorded over a two day period in Chicago with legendary sound engineer Steve Albini. In true Steve Albini style, he let This Moment In Black History dictate the sound on the record. There's no effort to rein in the spastic sonic assault of Chris Kulcsar's howling voice, Buddy Akita's speedy blues and garage riffs, and the low end pouding of the rhythm section Lawrence Daniel Caswell and Lamont Thomas. The result is an album that overflows with the the type of ferocity that is so abundant in their live shows.
