Western Ghost House
Hometown: Austin, TX
Western Ghost House started as a bedroom project between Jesse and Steven during the winter of 2008. The collaboration consisted of making electronic drumbeats and recording them on a friend’s computer, adding layers of guitar, keys, and vocals until the song was either done or they became too inebriated to complete it. In the summer of 2008, Jesse asked local drum legend, Adrian Carrillo to join their duo. Adrian agreed dispite his previous commitment to Austin metal band, Pack of Wolves and a vigorous 15-hour work week at Home Slice Pizza. After practicing a couple of times it became apparant that the band would need a second guitarist in order to satisfy the full sound their songs demanded. Adrian recommended his friend Andrew, who had just moved back from San Francisco. When Andrew pulled into the Home Slice parking lot in a ’65 Mustang Fastback with the license plate reading 2BAD4U and the stereo blasting James Brown, Jesse and Steven were skeptical, but after their first practice it was obvious that the chemisty was there. The band welcomed Andrew despite his gaudy fashion sense and elitist attitude. WGH self released their first EP in the Spring of 2009 and have been writing ever since.
