Beer is many things. For starters, it's good. Like, really good. So good in fact, according to scientists, that it's better for you after a workout than water, heathlier than milk, and in moderation, associated with a decreased risk of cardiac disease and stroke. It's also one of the world's oldest prepared beverages, and according to legend, proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
If you're a beer fan, you should definitely familiarize yourself with some of the quality beer that is being brewed right here in Austin. More specifically, the tasty suds being brewed at the Independence Brewing Company, Jester King Craft Brewery, Live Oak Brewing Company, Thirsty Planet Brewing, (512) Brewing Company, Circle Brewing Company, Hops and Grain Brewery, South Austin Brewing, and Austin Beer Works. There's also the Twisted X Brewing Company in Cedar Park, and the Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco.
A good way to familiarize yourself with the Breweries in Austin is of course by taking a brewery tour.
