Goober & the Peas were Detroit’s alternative country punk rock band for years. They Started off in the late ‘80s, and featured a traditional country base. The band was around for sometime with quite some local fame and radio play with only one hit "Funky Cowboy", But by the mid-’90s, enough members had left the band (including John Gillas aka Jack White of the White Stripes) that unfortunately they did’nt stay together past their second independent album, Jet-Age Genius of Goober & the Peas.
