Das Racist: "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell (Wallpaper. Remix)"

It's just a couple of dudes on cell phones trying to meet at a 2-for-1 Yum! Brands franchise-- "I'm at the Pizza Hut," "No, I'm at the Pizza Hut," it pretty much goes on like that-- but somehow it's going to be one of the songs of the summer. Das Racist: "Power" [ft. Danny Brown and Despot]

Das Racist are best known for effortlessly rattling off line after line in a way that sounds like they've simply edited down a casual conversation. On "Power", one of the high notes from their proper full-length debut Relax , they prove themselves just as adept at rapping with urgency. Here, they're joined by underground rap pals Danny Brown and Despot ; everyone sounds like they chugged energy drinks (or something much less innocuous) and attempted to out-rap each other. They all come out in top form, but the barky, manic Brown wins: "I tell my hoes what they wanna hear like I'm a psychic/ Don't like young hoes/ Them bitches can't cook/ I eat an old hoe like the Big Bad Wolf", he raps over a Dash Speaks -produced beat that sounds like a tense, industrially-geared retooling of the "Return to Innocence" production he provided on Sit Down, Man . If it's true that you're only as good as the company you keep, Das Racist have chosen wisely. [from Relax ; out now via Greedhead Music ]
