    3.5 Stars
Norah Jones sometimes gets derided for being too downtempo – which, really, is like hating on peaches for being juicy. But her fifth album is a brand-rejigging songwriting collab with Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton that both picks up her pace and pumps up her palette. more at rollingstone.com

#25 The title says it all. Norah Jones talks herself through a nasty breakup during Little Broken Hearts, with Danger Mouse serving as her wing man and producer. The two first worked together on 2011’s Rome, a spaghetti western collaboration that also featured Daniele Luppi and Jack White, but Little Broken Hearts finds them on more familiar ground, adding twists and turns to Jones’ usual foundation of jazz-tinged music and NPR-approved pop/rock. “Say Goodbye” is a fizzy, electro-pop standout directed at the guy who broke Norah’s heart, while ballads like “She’s 22” — a sparse, acoustic number elevated by Danger Mouse’s airy production — are proof that she’s still hurting...full article here

Norah Jones The Fall [Blue Note]

Reverb. Drums. Sexual innuendo. Has Norah Jones gone Rock ‘N’ Roll on us with The Fall? A little. Jones has let the hair down a bit. Experimenting with those piano keys and pushing the band to the forefront has given her a bit of an edge. (Thank producer Jacquire King of Kings of Leon and Tom Waits). The trademark Jones that we’ve grown accustomed to is still the foundation but something smells different. The RPMs are faster, the instruments a little more experimental (hear opener “Chasing Pirates”), the tone at times cloudy and risque. Maybe it’s because she’s jamming with Ryan Adams and Okkervil River’s Will Sheff. Whatever it is, Jones just got hotter. Impossible, we know.

It was a necessary change. How long could we keep digesting those made for candlelit bath-time songs?

The instant “Say Goodbye” starts you immediately notice two things: 1) This isn’t a sound we’ve previously associated with Norah Jones, probably because 2) Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton’s fingerprints (paw prints?) are all over this track. The understated, shimmering synth chords combined with the subtle laying of guitars are, for any fans of Broken Bells, a clear indication of the mighty Mouse at work. The subdued joy of the opening melody flows into Norah’s bittersweet memories of a lover, eventually leading us deep into the melancholy and sincerity within this dark side of pop. …Little Broken more here

Does anyone if this is a free show and if not, what is the price to get in? I have been surfing the net trying to figure it out, but can't seem to find anything yet.
