A true Renaissance man, he has mastered numerous instruments including acoustic, electric and slide guitar, harmonica, ukulele and singing saw. From his start as founder and stellar live performer with The Asylum Street Spankers to being awarded numerous Austin Music Awards, Forsyth has earned a veritable army of fans in Texas and beyond. New CD scheduled for release in April, 2012 Austin Music Awards Male Vocalist of the Year award winner. Co-founder of the legendary Asylum Street Spankers. Guy’s Songs have been featured in the films The Waking Life, Hands on a Hard Body, The Newton Boys, and in the feature Courage, in which he also appears. Texas Music Magazine said, “The insanely talented multi-instrumentalist can put on one hell of a show, alternately dazzling and amusing audiences on a musical journey that ventures from ragtime jazz and Delta blues to socially conscious folk and rollicking modern rock.” Jeff Spevak of the Rochester Democrat wrote, “More than a white bluesman, Forsyth mines the deep seams of American music traditions, emerging with fuel to feed the soul.
