Outside is a weird-pop amalgam of talented bands, including the surrealistic Moth, peppy and muscular Golden Bear, and, now with 100% fewer neon signs, The Laughing. DJ Richard Henry will also be on hand to sling tunes.

If the past few months are any indication, 2009 might just be the year that Austin finally breaks wide as a cohesive “scene,” all due to its burgeoning crop of young bands making Nuggets-inspired garage-rock and bleary-eyed psychedelia sound fresh again.
