Straight out of Holly Springs, MS, R.L. Burnside brought his trademarked hill country blues to the masses in the late 1990s.
He was the last great Mississippi bluesman, and the world lost an incredible American artist when he passed away in 2005. Walter Daniels and Black Joe Lewis are the two most lowdown bluesmen in Austin, and probably the only people in town who could do the master justice.
