Jonathan Richman fronted a supremely awesome band called the Modern Lovers. They are as important as the Velvet Underground, and they played awesome songs like "Roadrunner" and "Pablo Picasso." Then he changed the lineup of the Modern Lovers and wrote songs about cars. Then he made a bunch of okay solo records. Next week he is playing two nights in Austin. I'm not sure if they will be awesome, but buy the Modern Lovers LP and go anyway because he's a legend.
