Sure, there are plenty of films to see during SxSW, but this is the only one produced by one of my best friends from high school. This probably won't be the feel-good hit of the festival, but it might be the best written movie you see for awhile. Also playing 4:30 PM, Tuesday March 13th and 9:15 PM, Saturday March 17th, but the cool kids are seeing it on Monday.
An unlikely, junk-ballad-of-a-love story that follows a displaced veteran of the first Gulf War, and a 17-year-old Midwestern runaway amid the tough, lovelorn streets of mid-1990s New York City.
Adam Rapp is a novelist, filmmaker, and an OBIE Award-winning playwright and director. His first feature film, "Winter Passing" was released in 2006. A graduate of Clarke College in Dubuque, IA, Mr. Rapp also completed a two-year playwriting fellowship at Juilliard. He was born in Chicago, IL, and makes his home in New York City.
