“Robert De Niro in Costume: Selections From the Archive,” an exhibition of 13 iconic costumes from the Harry Ransom Center’s Robert De Niro collection, will be displayed inside the first floor main entrance of The University Co-op from March 19 to April 1.
Actor, director, producer Robert De Niro donated his vast collection to the Ransom Center in 2006. With materials from the late 1960s to the present, the archive includes annotated scripts, notes, research materials and an extensive collection of costumes De Niro wore in his films.
The archive is still being processed and is not yet available to the public, but this exhibition of costumes offers the public its first view of the collection.
The exhibition will feature costumes from 13 films, including “Awakenings” (1990), “Backdraft” (1991), “Great Expectations” (1998), “Meet the Fockers” (2004) and “Raging Bull” (1980).
The exhibition can be seen Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Co-op is at 2246 Guadalupe St., and parking is available in The Co-op garage at 23rd and San Antonio streets.

about 1 year ago.Ransom Center has a lot of pull in the arts. Some of the most famous writers and movies/movie stars donate their archives there.
about 1 year ago. They talked about this show on KUT this morning. I find it a little odd that De Niro donated his archives to the Ransom center, but it’s pretty cool.
