Friday Night features a line up of music that stirs the neo-soul headlined by Angie Stone! A singer, a self-taught keyboardist, and a prolific songwriter, Stone's first claim to fame was being the lead vocalist on Vertical Hold's smooth urban dance track "Seems You're Much Too Busy." An R&B Top 40 hit during the summer of 1993, it eventually led to a solo career, and her debut album Black Diamond was issued in 1999 by Arista. Also performing on Friday night - Detroit neo-soul artist Dwele, Kindred the Family Soul and Jean Baylor of the former R & B duo group Zhane. REGIONAL AND LOCAL ARTISTS TO BE ANNOUNCED.
Saturday night is a throwback tribute to legendary groups - led by the O'Jays! For seven consecutive years, beginning with their 1972 release of "Back Stabbers," the O'Jays had a gold or platinum record every year and garnered three Grammy nominations for Best R&B Vocal Group. With more than 50 hit singles released in their 40 year career, few people have earned the right to be called "living legends." The O'Jays have earned that right!
Joining the O'Jays on stage will be the masters of funk - Cameo! Word Up! Also performing - true R&B music group Mint Condition. REGIONAL AND LOCAL ARTISTS TO BE ANNOUNCED.
