Meet Alex, a violent juvenile roaming the streets of near-future London and endlessly indulging in brutal violence and the pleasures of young women. Along with his fellow "droogs", Alex cheats, steals, beats, violates, murders and humiliates who- and whatever he pleases, until his sudden incarceration leaves him alone and powerless. Behind bars, he becomes a guinea pig in a revolutionary experimental procedure aimed at rearranging the criminal mind. Sweeping cinematography, unprecedented harshness and a brilliantly icy performance by Malcolm McDowell make this adaptation of Anthony Burgess' novel a permanent burn on the brain. Widely considered one of the most artfully harrowing cinematic experiences, Stanley Kubrick's grim sci-fi thug opera was released to a severe storm of controversy, and has since become an undeniable film landmark.
