AA-S Best Bet: In honor of its one-year anniversary, Cantanker magazine celebrates with a group installation at the Else Madsen Gallery downtown. "Cantanker/us" showcases the work of 14 artists and writers, including Cantanker editors John Mulvany and Debra Broz, currently on staff at the quarterly. Cantanker magazine serves as an independent resource for local visual artists. It offers local resources, reviews, museum and gallery information, blogs and more for the Austin arts community. Catch the work of some of Austin's best and most innovative at "Cantanker/us" on display through July 6. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cantanker magazine has reached its one-year anniversary! To celebrate, the staff has finally decided (gratuitous self-promotion aside) to show Austin their art. Else Madsen Gallery and Cantanker Magazine are pleased to present Cantanker/us, the Cantanker magazine staff show. Meet your favorite opinionated, cantankerous artist-writers and see their art at the Cantanker/us opening reception, June 1 from 7-11 pm at Else Madsen.

Artists include Debra Broz, Shea Little, John Mulvany, Laura Latimer, Claire Moore, Margot Herster, Paul McLean, Michelle Dewey, Hillary McMahan, Sean Gaulager, Clarisse Noelle, J Haley, Christina Hiett and Cherie Weaver.
