SUNDAY JUNE 17 - 7pm, DOWNTOWN

This year, tell your dad he's your hero. Treat him, or just yourself, to a screening of the original ROCKY with a Philly Feast good enough to make anyone reach for the sky. This is the movie that burst onto the scene in 1976 and became a gigantic favorite for Americans still battered and bruised from Watergate and the divisive Vietnam era. Rocky Balboa is one of the greatest pure American heroes and this movie, winner of three Oscars - including Best Picture - is still one of the most inspirational films ever made, in the best possible way. If you have a soul you can't help but feel uplifted by the story, the great performance by Sly Stallone in the role he was born to play and the unforgettable music. With the addition of a knockout five course menu, it's a dead-on perfect night at the movies.

First course: Heirloom tomato gazpacho
Second course: Tenderloin steak tar-tar with quail egg prosecco shooter
Third course: Braised beef short ribs with baby arugula, roasted new potatoes and golden beets
Fourth course: Penne carbonara with pancetta, spinach and oyster mushrooms
Dessert: Espresso cream filled cannolli with bittersweet chocolate shavings and candied orange zest

Please note that each course will be accompanied by a glass of beer or wine. Those exact pairings have yet to be determined! Also, we will always try to accommodate vegetarians if you email me at karen@originalalamo.com. The sooner the better to that end so we have time to develop a satisfying option for you!
