The first annual Freedom 5000 is a 5K run that will take place July 4th, 2007. Runners and walkers will make there way along the 5K course through the streets along side Town Lake. The PR friendly race route starts at the trail underneath Mopac. The field will head east along Stephen F. Austin Drive and Cesar Chavez to a turn-around point near San Antonio St. and return along the almost-all-downhill Cesar Chavez route back to the starting line. Start your family's holiday off with a "bang" by joining in on this patriotic event!!!

Awards will be given to the top 25 male and 25 female that finish.

Race day parking will be available on the Stratford side of Town Lake, underneath Mopac bridge

Packet Pick up will be on Tuesday July 3rd, 2007 from 10am-7pm at Runtex Riverside & will also be held near the start/finish line on race day up until the race starts at 8am

Registration will be available on race day as well as on July 3rd at Packet Pick-Up ! ! !
