Man-pulp with the macho pedal strapped to the floor! With the coming of the 80s, the national testosterone level was at an all-time low. It was time for action! So a crack team of aging tough guys was assembled to make this mercenary mission movie. Unlike most male stars in the '80s, craggy hardcases Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn and Woody Strode were definitely NOT in touch with their emotions, unless face-punching is an emotion. Whitman, who lets his amazing eyebrows do most of the talking, plays Captain Tony, one of those lovable mean Irish bastards who has a kick-ass boat, knows everybody in town and drinks a gallon of whiskey at breakfast. He and shady government operative Robert Vaughn get tricked into a doomed assasination plot by unsavory mob guy Michael Gazzo (with his incredible rasping voice), whose main enforcer is busty amazon Sybil Danning! Man oh man! With cockfights, big explosions and stock-footage shark attacks. Also known as SWEET DIRTY TONY. (Lars)
