If the word “slideshow” conjures up images of relatives boring you to tears with their recent trip to Spain, then you haven’t been paying attention. The slideshow has been enjoying a renaissance as of late, thanks to bands like The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players and local performances like Elizabeth Cobbe’s Ohio Trip. In an age where anyone can whip up a slick presentation with nothing more than iMovie and an MP3 of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” there’s something reassuring and magical about an old-fashioned analog slideshow, warts and all. Here, 20 local artists, architects, and otherwise creative folk will present a series of slideshows accompanied by vegetarian fare provided by The Soup Peddler, Aster’s Ethiopian, and Hoa Hoa Kitchen. The experience is guaranteed give you a warm, cozy feeling, with almost no urge to stab out your eyeballs with the nearest pen. www.theonion.com
