You know all that cheesy fantasy art that you used to see everywhere in the 80s with giant musclemen swinging broadswords and shiny barbarian girls in fur thongs perched atop golden stallions? This movie captures that look and feel perfectly. It just can't be done any better than this, and as a guilty pleasure it's second only to smoking crack, shaking babies or setting homeless people on fire. 80s Macho Man Lee Horsley plays Prince Talon who's been wrongly deposed by the evil pretender Cromwell (creepy tough-guy Richard Lynch). There's a quest of course, and Talon puts together a gang of barbarians to depose the evil King. Along the way there's nudity, a lot of swordfights, stupid dialogue by the truckload and even a sorcerer, played by Richard Moll of "Night Court." It's been done a lot, but rarely have the parts added up to such a perfectly enjoyable whole. Heartily recommended. (Lars)
