The Harry Ransom Center screens The Big Parade (1925) as part of the Silent Silver Screen Series on Thursday, July 19, at 7 p.m.
Directed by King Vidor, the film follows the idle son of a rich businessman who joins the army and is sent to France during World War I. The screening features live music by Graham Reynolds and friends. Seating is free but limited. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The film series is in conjunction with the Ransom Center’s exhibition The American Twenties, on display through July 29.
