Raw And Desperate is putting on a Charity Event for Groundwork Music Project with an all night “Battle of the Bands” at Maggie Mae’s on sixth. The evening will carry on the sound of local bands from a variety of funk, hip hop, rock, and even reggae. We have on the bill, Jabarvy, Disc_fragment, Sunglasses and Mushrooms, The Blind Pets, Rival City, Schlong Daddy, Vehicular, and headliner Spin Alley. Celebrity Judges judging the “Battle of the Bands” are 94.7 Miss Kitty, DJ Toddy B, and musician Ray Primm whom of which will be announcing the winner during the headliner’s show at the end of the evening.
During this night of music will be live custom artwork with graffiti tagging, t-shirt designs, and test drive tattoos whereas the people can get in it and make their own art as well receive and buy original art by the artists. Live interactive artists at this event will be by Funky Finger Grafix and J Muzacz, and tattoo designs by the Sailor’s Grave Tattoo.
To ensure the education of music to the children, this event will be taking a suggested $1 donation at the door which will be going to the Groundwork Music Project whom of which will be at the event to help educate the music and art lovers. Donation will also be going to R.A.D. to ensure more future events like this can help bring people to the charity and to the artists of all Austin.
This event is in sponsorship of The Stash, a local handmade arts and crafts store on South First, 2209. Here you can find art shows, music, clothes, jewelry, and everything in between. Thanks to The Stash, R.A.D. has been able to show forth our will to keep anything art in the life of Austin.
