1967 Hoot Happening - 21 Austin Bands, 2 Slam Poets, 2 DJs!!! 40th Anniversary of the Summer of Love! A Bleu French Laundry Prod
20 People & 4 All-Stars Like this Event. I Like It
You know that it would be untrue, you know that I would be a liar, if I was to say to you, honeychild we couldn't get much higher.
Are you experienced?
During the thick haze of this Summer, Bleu French Laundry Productions gathers together 21 local bands, 2 slam poets, 2 djs to bring you the landmark 1967 Hoot Happening, Saturday, August 25th, 2007 3pm-3am at Ruta Maya International Headquarters in South Austin, TEXAS. This Summer hails the 40th Anniversary of what has been regarded as the birth of the counter-culture from various musical ports worldwide. In complete celebration of this period in pop culture & rock history, all bands will rip thru tunes that were written, recorded, or released in 1967. Tunin' you in & turnin' you on: CHRISTIAN BLAND of THE BLACK ANGELS, BIG BLACK SMOKE (featuring GIAN ORTIZ of AMPLIFIED HEAT), SHAPES HAVE FANGS, A FEW NICE THINGS, THE DIRTY HEARTS, THE ALICE ROSE, THE MURDOCKS, RINGO DEATHSTARR, ZOOKEEPER, FOR THOSE WHO KNOW, JASON MORALES of TIA CARRERA with CURT & TRINIDAD of DIXIE WITCH, SCORPION CHILD, MILITANT BABIES, TAMMANY HALL MACHINE, THE BOXING LESSON, THE SUMMER WARDROBE, FOREVER CHANGES (a LOVE tribute band featuring JAKE & JASON of THE UGLY BEATS), LZ LOVE, LEATHERBAG, JADE DAY, ALL IN THE GOLDEN AFTERNOON, PSYCHOTROPIC's DJ SCORPIO & DJ WHPLASH , & Austin Slam Poets LOVE ROBINSON & CHRISTOPHER LEE. This 12 hour rock'n'roll event will not only feature killer songs performed live in technicolor from this groundbreaking year, but further present a window into this era thru film footage of bands & events screened between these hot sets. All bands will play several numbers from '67 & then will follow with a tune from their own collection in spirit of the '67 rock gathering Monterey Pop Festival, that showcased & debuted the amazing talent on the current scene. To give you a feel as to what will blare, at least one song from each band is revealed. Anytime will set you ablaze, but the lowdown is the lowdown & works like this >>>>>>>
