October 27th- Chris Chappell http://www.chrischappellart.com/ will have a show of his figurative paintings.  Chris and I started the Austin Figurative Project and Gallery together ast year.  Painting with him has had a huge effect on me.  The paintings he has been doing at the weekly sessions at the AFG are inspired and surprising.  Respect for the paint and respect for the form of the model overlap in very unexpected ways in his work.  Dude also loves to paint little portraits of toilets, true story.
