TAMMANY HALL MACHINE FAREWELL SHOW WITH THE BOXING LESSON

Local Austin band TAMMANY HALL MACHINE has announced they will be going on indefinite hiatus after 5 years of collaboration and performance. On Saturday, January 26, 2008, THM will play a Farewell Show at Ruta Maya HQ for longtime fans and friends, with a special extended set and an appearance by THE BOXING LESSON.
The announcement comes as several members have begun working on new projects. Lead singer and songwriter Joel Mullins is already in the studio working on an album with his new band, THE DEAF EARS, which includes ex-HALLEY drummer Scott Oliphant and THM's original bassist, Mick Southerland. Kullen Fuchs (IAN MOORE, 'TIL WE'RE BLUE OR DESTROY) and THM's Geoff Dupree are also expected to make appearances on the record. In addition to THE DEAF EARS, Mullins can be found playing keys for LALALAND. TAMMANY guitarist Geoff Dupree is currently in the studio with jude/ross, the new band from former LEATHERBAG guitarist Michael Todaro. Trombonist Nick "T-Bone" Warrenchuk, bassist Drew Emmons, and drummer Jonathan Kollar will continue to perform locally, although no definite plans have been finalized.
With doors opening at 9:30pm and THE BOXING LESSON raging through their set at 10pm, fans will have plenty of time to purchase some discounted TAMMANY HALL MACHINE merch before THM hits the stage sometime after 11pm. This performance will prove electrifying and not to be missed! TAMMANY has been invited to appear at SXSW 2008 and is scheduling that gig as their last and final show, but their Farewell Show on January 26 is the one for the fans.
Cover is only $8, $5 if you bring 2 friends.
