My Education, The Thulsa Doom & Many Birthdays- Darkness at Antone's

The Austin-based live, electroacoustic jam ensemble, The Thulsa Doom, will be kicking off their first live show since the band’s CD release party last month. Thanks to everyone that made the show a success! If you haven’t had a chance to pick up your copy of Vicissitudes, stop in at End of and Ear records on S. 1st to grab the E.P.
Mark your calendars for April 6th, 2008 at Antone’s - 213 W. 5th St. in Austin for the next adventure in electro-acoustic sound mastery. The Thulsa Doom will be expanding on some of our favorite tracks as well as starting the live songwriting process for some new groovements. The band joins the celebrated instrumental outfit, My Education.

About The Thulsa Doom
The Thulsa Doom is the live electro-acoustic project of Matt Georgia, Luther Smalls, Lee Dockery, Philippe Ross, and Pete Powers. Formed in 2006, the group constructed the material for its first live recordings through an impromptu M.O. while on the stage. However, during the first 4 months of performances, each member was able to construct actual songs from live jams -reinventing and evolving the structural makeup of the compositions as each session passed. For more information visit www.thethulsadoom.com

About My Education
If your not familiar with My Education, the group is a five-piece instrumental outfit featuring Brian Purington (guitar), Chris Hackstie (guitar), James Alexander (viola), Scott Telles (bass), and Chris Stelly (drums). The groups first self-release record achieved chart-topping status among college radio stations throughout North America. Last year, the group composed a score for the 1920’s F.W. Maunau’s film Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans, which premiered at the Alamo Drafthouse in March 2007. Their next album, Bad Vibrations, is due on this Summer.
