WHO: Austin, TX—Ace Custom Tailors adds a new component to their annual Teddy Bear Hospital fundraiser, the Beary Stylish Auction benefiting the Austin Children’s Shelter. The Austin Children’s Shelter has provided emergency shelter, high quality care and hope for the future to the abandoned, abused and neglected children of our community since 1984. The Shelter provides a variety of critical services and programs to children from birth to 17 years old to lay a foundation of hope for each child. To ensure that each child’s needs are met, ACS provides critical programs including medical and dental care, group and individual therapy, and educational support. Only 35% of their annual funding comes from government sources and the rest must be raised through events like the Ace Teddy Bear Hospital and Beary Stylish Auction. WHAT: Teddy bear outfits designed by local and national talents (actors, designers, musicians, and sports figures etc.) are showcased beginning at 7 pm on July 24^th at the Belmont. The Beary Stylish Auction Preview Party gives the public a chance to preview the celebrity designed bears as well as kick off the bidding on eBay. Admission is a $5 donation at the door, and bidding stations will be set up in the Beary Stylish Bidding Lounge on the Belmont patio. The eBay auction closes on Wednesday July 30^th at midnight. The event includes performances by local Austin bands Phoenix Down at 7:30 pm followed by Meridian West at 9:00 pm. The Daily Juice After Dark will mix fresh juice cocktails beginning at 7 pm, and complimentary light appetizers will be served. The Beary Stylish Auction includes celebrity designers Dennis and Kimberly Quaid, Lyle Lovett, Andy Roddick, Guy Forsyth, Bob Schneider, Vallejo, Suzanna Choffel, Stephen Moser, Marques Harper, Tyson Cole, Matt Luckie and many more. All funds raised by the Beary Stylish Auction and Preview Party will go directly to the Austin Children’s Shelter.
