The Ugly Beats do 60s garage rock revivalism so well that you might think they just arrived in some sort of time machine. The local quintet has definitely carved out a niche for themselves in the Austin music scene, having played gigs at many of the best venues in town while performing like its 1967. This Friday at Emo's they will entertain along with the clever 80's-style new wave act Nagel, and the energetic, nine-piece pop/rock band Til We're Blue or Destroy.
