Now Playing Austin, airing Thursdays 6p-7p on 91.7fm KOOP, highlights noteworthy music events occurring in Austin within the upcoming week. The focus is mainly on local musicians but also features national and international artists coming through town. Now Playing Austin has been on air since Fall 2005.

AustinSound.net was created by a group of local music fans to promote and enrich Austin’s vibrant music community. Through a combination of daily news and reviews of both larger and lesser known artists, Austin Sound seeks to provide a space for information about independent local artists with thoughtful, independent writing and Mp3 samples.

91.7fm KOOP is a non-commercial, non-profit, community radio station owned and operated by its volunteer members. KOOP provides a diverse array of programming, emphasizing on programs that deal with local issues or serve communities which are under-served by mainstream media. KOOP has been serving the Austin community since 1994.
