It takes a lot of gumption for an Austin band to take the name of the city’s most notorious killer, but Whitman isn’t out to raise hackles: Although the group’s angular, propulsive rock has considerable bite, the radio-ready vocal hooks and soothing whorls of organ suggest that its intention is to get fists, not blood pumping. more at austin.decider.com
