As part of a series of free community events aimed at increasing turnout in City Council elections, the Chris Riley Campaign announces “Triple Scoop,” a concert, art show, and ice cream social. The event will be held at United States Art Authority at Spider House, and feature free vegan ice cream from locally owned and operated NadaMoo.

“It’s great to see support for my campaign across Austin’s cultural creative scene,” stated Riley. “I’m excited that so many young folks are getting involved in campaign events and working to help make Austin live up to our ideals.”

The gallery show will feature visual wall art and small installations by twenty local artists including Rachel Koper, Tim Kerr, and Joshua Sampson. The musical lineup represents a cross section of Austin’s local independent music scene and includes DJ MVSCLZ, La Snacks, Follow That Bird!, Built By Snow, Dikes of Holland, Baby Robots, The Black, and Cry Blood Apache.

These events have been primarily organized by Riley’s supporters, who view the campaign as an opportunity to engage new, young voters in city elections. An events steering committee made up of over forty volunteers has met every two weeks since January to organize events like Triple Scoop that aim at engaging more voters in the upcoming municipal elections.
