George Clinton is the single most influential figure in the history of funk, and the mastermind behind both Parliament & Funkadelic. The Parliament/Funkadelic machine ruled black music during the '70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles and three platinum albums, and in 1997, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They probably aren't quite as funky as they were back in the day, but you have to see this show at least once in your lifetime, and they don't often come to Austin.
